The Lighthouse Community Church in Nashville, Illinois is prayerfully seeking the man that God has chosen to serve as our pastor. We support the Illinois Baptist State Association and are part of the Nine Mile Baptist Association.
Lighthouse is a contemporary, conservative church. We have a reputation for preaching God’s truth in relatable ways to all ages as well as serving the community through outreach events. Our youth group is growing and active with many students from the community who have then brought their families to worship. We welcome these visitors through our vibrant hospitality ministry.
We are seeking a pastor who supports the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and has a boldness in preaching and sharing the Word. We seek a leader who can empower ministry leaders and excels in growing leaders to serve in elder/deacon roles. This man should be a servant leader and have a passion to help build an effective growing church by ministering to those within the church and reaching out to the community through evangelism/community events. Our church needs a man excited about discipleship and creating small groups to involve visitors and members in Bible study and building relationships. The qualities mentioned in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 are essential. A man that can shepherd with compassion and inspire others will be successful here. He must have his own family as a priority and be a loving spiritual leader to them.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited evangelical college or divinity school in biblical studies, theology or pastoral ministry
Experience: 3 years of similar ministry experience (e.g. pastor, associate, student ministry, etc.) in which preaching/teaching, ministry oversight, leadership and team building were required.
He should be ordained in a Southern Baptist church .
